Open vs. Enclosed Vehicle Transport

Open transport is an excellent option for most standard vehicles and is the most widely available and cost-effective method of vehicle shipping. However, certain vehicles may require enclosed transport because of their value, design, condition, or specialized handling requirements.

When Enclosed Transport May Be Recommended

Enclosed transport may be the better option for:

▪️High-value, exotic, classic, or specialty vehicles
▪️Vehicles valued above $100,000
▪️Soft-top convertibles
▪️Vehicles with very low ground clearance
▪️Modified, lowered, or custom vehicles
▪️Vehicles requiring higher cargo-insurance limits
▪️Vehicles that need additional protection from road exposure

Standard open carriers often have lower total cargo-insurance limits than enclosed carriers. Because those limits may cover every vehicle on the trailer, Team Alex carefully reviews the carrier’s insurance before assigning your transport.
